Some Prestigious Journals of Astrophysics
This article is an incomplete catalog of some highly-regarded journals on astrophysics, astronomy, or cosmology.
One can find more journals on the list of astronomy journals (Wikipedia).

Big Bang Theory — Early History
- first advocated by Lemaître (1931) and Gamow (when?), etc.
- based on General Relativity (GR), statistical thermodynamics…
- explains:
- the astronomically observed cosmic inflation.
- the abundance of some light elements, such as H and He
- presumes a primeval state with extremely high temperature and density: singularity, or more famously, Big Bang
- predicts the cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB)
- was denominated by Hoyle in 1949.
- Hoyle was at first a strong critic of the Big Bang Theory and coined the word “Big Bang" pejoratively.
- accepted by the overwhelming majority of scientists since 1965, the discovery of CMB
- of which current model contains cosmological constants, cold dark matter, and a model called ΛCDM❗️
